{"id":55,"date":"2025-12-17T12:51:16","date_gmt":"2025-12-17T12:51:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lrtgardening.co.uk\/blog\/?p=55"},"modified":"2025-12-17T12:51:16","modified_gmt":"2025-12-17T12:51:16","slug":"looking-back-on-a-challenging-sunny-year-in-the-garden","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lrtgardening.co.uk\/blog\/index.php\/2025\/12\/17\/looking-back-on-a-challenging-sunny-year-in-the-garden\/","title":{"rendered":"Looking Back on a Challenging (&#038; Sunny) Year in the Garden"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">December already\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0not quite sure\u00a0how we got here so fast!\u00a0I\u2019ve\u00a0been quieter on the blog over the last few months, thanks to a very full diary and a lot of time spent outdoors working in gardens.\u00a0As the year winds down\u00a0&amp;\u00a0the\u00a0garden finally starts to rest, it feels like\u00a0a good time\u00a0to look back on what has been a memorable year, for all sorts of reasons.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">It\u2019s\u00a0fair to say this\u00a0hasn\u2019t\u00a0been the easiest year for gardening. The long,\u00a0hot summer\u00a0&amp;\u00a0very little\u00a0rainfall really tested gardens\u00a0(&amp; us\u00a0gardeners)\u00a0to their limits. Lawns\u00a0struggled,\u00a0plants needed extra care\u00a0&amp;\u00a0keeping everything alive sometimes felt like a full-time\u00a0job in itself. There were plenty of early mornings, lots of\u00a0watering\u00a0&amp;\u00a0more\u00a0than a few fingers crossed that the rain would finally arrive.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">That said, there was also something\u00a0pretty special\u00a0about spending so much time outdoors in the sunshine. Even on the hottest days,\u00a0there\u2019s\u00a0still nowhere\u00a0I\u2019d\u00a0rather be than outside, hands in the soil, watching gardens slowly respond to a bit of care and attention. Seeing plants pull through tough conditions\u00a0&amp;\u00a0gardens still looking good despite the odds was incredibly rewarding.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Throughout the year,\u00a0I\u2019ve\u00a0had the pleasure of working in so many wonderful gardens\u00a0&amp;\u00a0for\u00a0such lovely people. Whether it was regular maintenance\u00a0or helping shape gardens for the seasons ahead,\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0genuinely grateful to everyone who supported my business this year. Your trust, kindness\u00a0&amp;\u00a0the many friendly chats along the way mean more than you know.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">As winter settles in, the pace slows a little\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0a time to tidy, plan\u00a0&amp;\u00a0look ahead to what next year might bring.\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0already looking forward to new projects, fresh\u00a0growth\u00a0&amp;\u00a0hopefully\u00a0a bit more rain when we need it!<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Thank you again for\u00a0an\u00a0amazing year. I wish you all\u00a0a very happy\u00a0festive season and a healthy, green-filled New Year.
